AIDA Monofin Freediver Course

 

This section is designed to be an introduction to monofin swimming and to help the student develop the basic skills, techniques and knowledge required for its effective use.

Students will be taught the different approaches to diving with a monofin, the specialized exercises in the technical part as well as how to design an individual training program.

 

 

The theoretical course includes:

 

  • Construction and design

  • Maintenance and transportation

  • Selection Criteria

  • Apnea games

  • Advantages / disadvantages of monofin over bifins.

  • Accessories

  • General training on land

  • Safety rules

 

The 2 practical courses include:

 

  • Warm-up exercises

  • Stretches of specific muscle groups

  • Practice of the monofin technique

  • Dynamic apnea with short fins

  • Dynamic apnea with monofin

  • Maintain a vertical position in the water

  • Rescue techniques

  • Design and implementation of an individual program for training

 

 

 

 

  • The course includes notes, pool fee, videos/photos, diploma and certification.

  • No exams are required to obtain the certification.

  • Participation requires an AIDA 2 * degree or equivalent.

  • Minimum age is 16 years with parent / guardian consent.

  • The ratio of students per instructor is up to 3: 1

  • Underwater video recording of the efforts and projection - explanation in the theory is included.
